The two main highlights of the WSPID 2019 were the Napoleón González World Lecture and the Special Lecture.

The Napoleón González World Lecture – Prof. Elizabeth Molyneux

This lecture aimed to address the issue of global impact. Prof. Elizabeth Molyneux was selected by the International Scientific Committee to present her lecture ‘Lessons learned from Africa’.

The Special Lecture – Prof. Usa Thisyakorn

This Special Lecture addresses timely and important issues of regional impact. The International Scientific Committee therefore selected Prof. Usa Thisyakorn, based on her important contributions to medicine, both globally and in the Asian region. The presentation she delivered was ‘Elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV: Lessons learned from success in Thailand’.
